Remediation technologies for environmental restoration

The author describes remediation technologies that can be effectively applied in any industrialized country for hazardous waste remediation to protect public health and the environment. First, the regulatory environment is examined. The major hazardous waste treatment methodologies are classified as follows: physical, chemical, biological, thermal, and stabilization and solidification. Technology development, foreign remediation technologies, and technology transfer in this area are examined.<>
