Using advanced CAD tools to teach basic VLSI skills

This paper proposes using a variety of high level design tools, obtained through the Eurochip scheme, to enable students to perform comparative studies on a range of design problems. This approach not only highlights the advantages and disadvantages of different methodologies but also helps to develop an understanding of the low level circuit techniques being used.<>
