Magnetic properties of RFe/sub 11-x/Co/sub x/TiN/sub y/ (R:Nd,Pr) compounds with ThMn/sub 12/ type structure

RFe/sub 11-x/Co/sub x/ TiN/sub y/ (R:Nd,Pr) compounds with ThMn/sub 12/ type structures were synthesized through metallurgical processes such as melting, casting, pulverizing, and gas nitrogenation. The compounds showed increases in magnetic induction (4 pi I/sub m/), anisotropic field (H/sub a/), and Curie temperature (T/sub c/) by nitrogenation as in the case of Sm/sub 2/Fe/sub 17/N/sub x/. The large values of 4 pi I/sub m/ and H/sub a/ were observed in the range of nitrogen contents 1600 degrees C. The value of H/sub ci/ was 5.9 kOe in the case of a zinc bonded magnet prepared by the NdFe/sub 7.5/Co/sub 3.5/TiN/sub 1.4/ powder.<>
