A low noise differential BiCMOS preamplifier for telecommunications

A low-noise preamplifier with differential input and differential output is designed for a telecommunications application. Simulated input referred noise is less than 7 nV/ square root Hz. The gain of 25 is set by resistive feedback. Simulations show the linear output range of the operational amplifier designed for the preamplifier to be +or-5.5 V when the balance level is O V, and the DC amplification is 96 dB. The phase margin is 86 degrees if an amplification of 25 is used. Simulated white noise at the input to the operational amplifier is <4 nV/ square root Hz.<>
