Model for the simulation of wideband HF noise and interference

A simple model of wideband HF noise/interference has been developed and used to simulate the noise/interference process. The simulated data and power spectra, as well as numerous statistical characteristics, closely resemble the corresponding measured quantities for a variety of measured data. However, the model developed thus far is incomplete for two reasons. First, the measured data analyzed thus far comprise a limited database obtained during March, 1989 at Bedford, MA. Second, the HF channel is decidedly nonstationary, and this nonstationarity needs to be investigated and modeled. Further investigations are currently underway.<>
