Increasing inductive power transferring efficiency for Maglev emergency power supply

This paper presents a new method for increasing the linear generator output efficiency of contactless emergency power supply for the Maglev. It is realized by installing a compensating capacitor in the output side of the auxiliary linear generator In this paper, the theory of inductive power transferring for Maglev is reviewed firstly, and then the model of the emergency power supply system is given. From the model, the relationship between the auxiliary linear generator output power and the compensating capacitor is studied. Then the design of the auxiliary linear generator windings is given. Finally the experiment results on the 1:4 prototype are given to verify the analysis. From the analysis and the experiment results, it can be seen that the compensating method can effectively improve the power transferring efficiency of the Maglev emergency power supply system.
