A novel procedure for design and synthesis of waveguide filters using the genetic algorithm

A general optimization scheme for the autonomous design of transverse waveguide filters has been presented. By employing a novel genetic algorithm in conjunction with a commercial FEM software package, the technique demonstrated here is readily applicable to a wide variety of waveguide filter problems.
