Computerized Electron Gun Design Using the 3D Beam Optics Code BOA

3D electron gun design involves optimization of numerous parameters, including voltage, current, magnetic field, and geometry. The recent availability of parametrically driven solid modeling programs provides opportunity for implementing the entire design process in an optimization loop using the automatic, adaptive meshing capability of Beam Optics Analysis. The results of this development to date will be provided.
