The comparison and evaluation of textile innerduct vs. rigid innerduct installations and applications

Textile innerducts, a new construction solution for the outside plant market and manufactured from monofilament yarns, promised easier cable installation compared to standard high density polyethylene (HDPE) conduits. Performance was measured by conducting controlled field testing of several configurations of textile innerducts in a variety of duct applications over the same test length. Results revealed that textile innerducts could reduce cable pulling tension by up to 60 percent over equivalent rigid innerduct products.
