Organic and hybrid organic/inorganic transistors for chemical and bio sensing

Organic transistors can be employed as chemical sensors and recent work has shown that they can attain useful sensitivities. Scaling down the transistor to channel dimensions in the 10-150 nm range produced markedly different responses compared to micron scale devices. A new hybrid silicon/organic sensor device has been described with improved properties compared to CHEMFETs.
