The IEEE P1901 project: broadband over power lines

IEEE P1901 in an IEEE draft standard for broadband over power line networks defining medium access control and physical layer specifications. The applications of IEEE P1901 includes: first-mile/last mile connection to broadband services (Internet, VoIP, IPTV), in-home audio video, in-home extensions of broadband services, electricity network management/meter reading, building/office LANs, etc.
