Radiation-acoustic method for diagnostics of metals and alloys

The acoustic emission, which occurs at the interaction of x-ray with metals and alloys is considered. In this work it is shown that during an annihilation of interstitial atoms with generically bound vacancies, thermal spikes take place, which lead to the generation of acoustic waves.
