An experimental study of NO/sub 2/ formation in the reaction of iodine with sodium nitrate in presence and in absence of tolan

The correlation between the duration of oxidation-reduction interactions forming NO/sub 2/ in gaseous phase over the reaction mass containing I/sub 2/ and NaNO/sub 3/ acetic acid and its amount has found. The quantities of the formed NO/sub 2/ both in presence and in absence of a tolan in the reaction mass during different periods have been evaluated. The relationship between the yields of E/Z isomers and the concentration of the forming NO/sub 2/ has been studied.
