Multi-motor synchronization technique applied in traction devices

Multi-motor applications are already a "true" option in highly demanding devices by replacing mechanical coupling. Here, electronic virtual line-shafting (EVLS) to synchronize two independent induction motors (IM) wheels for an electric vehicle feed (considering the flat ride case) by a single inverter is presented. Feasibility and practical limitations are analyzed in a laboratory set-up.
