NUMERIS ISDN in France: 1990 National Coverage

The author considers France Telecom's strategy for the development of NUMERIS, the integrated services digital network (ISDN) in France. France Telecom's strategy for the development of NUMERIS is based on four main aspects: a fast national coverage, the definition of attractive tariffs, the development of international interconnections, and the development of applications. The author briefly considers the results of this policy. Based on this strategy France Telecom estimates the number of NUMERIS accesses in 1995 to be 500000.<>
