Multiobjective decision making with fuzzy problems for infrastructure investment planning: a case of transportation investment

A multistage process in infrastructure investment planning and decision-making is considered. Most infrastructure investment problems exhibit properties of multiobjectivity and fuzziness. The government often promotes a district or a region to develop, using public infrastructure investment to achieve a specific purpose such as increasing economic benefit reducing environmental destruction, or improving living quality. This paper applies the fuzzy multiobjective nonlinear method in the multistage hierarchy decision structure. Various alpha -levels are employed to determine the nature of the problems in each stage. Finally, an illustrative example of the robust investment is also presented.<>
