A double-arm generic microstrip electromagnetic bandgap structure with bandpass and bandstop characteristics

A novel generic microstrip structure that can be used as both bandstop and bandpass filters is introduced in this paper. The design steps, numerical simulations and experimentations are briefly discussed. Examples of microstrip electromagnetic band gap (EBG) and bandpass filters are presented.
