Beamlets in fast-wave devices

A new approach to the analysis of fast-wave devices is presented. This analysis predicts two basic interaction mechanisms and is extended to incorporate traditional slow wave devices. Properties of devices in small signal regimes are presented leading to a proposed classification of Microwave tubes.
