EMPAR phased array testing tools in anechoic chamber

A diagnostic testing tool for the EMPAR full phased array antenna is described. It is used to check the working condition of the complete array, in terms of phase shifter status and main radiating performances, as soon as the antenna has been assembled in the integration area. An external fixed probe antenna is used to transmit the reference signal. The measurement data are processed by a dedicated algorithm to obtain the estimation of the aperture field distribution and of the antenna radiation patterns.
