Simulation of spring system's operation process for electromagnetic relay

Electromagnetic relay (EMR), being one type of the representative electromechanical components, plays a vital role in control system, communication and industrial automation. Reliable motion is the important premise of the reliable operation. Spring system (including springs and contacts) is the executing parts of EMR, the dynamic mechanical character of which influences EMR's life directly and eventually affect its reliability. Based on the dynamics theory of flexible multi-body system, the mathematic model of motion process for spring system is built up in This work. The relative factors which affect dynamic character of contact (bouncing, contact pressure), such as contact position, pusher arm position, pushing pressure and spring size), is analyzed by using software-ADAMS. How to improve dynamic contact character of spring system is investigated by computer simulation. The conclusions can be used to guide the parameter optimized design of spring system for EMR in order to increase the reliability of contacts.
