Scopes and perspectives of iodination of aromatic and heteroaromatic compounds

Preparative possibilities of known and new iodinating reagents and methods of generating electrophilic iodine in different mediums are discussed. Have been studied by experimental and theoretical (ab initio) methods of electronic structures and reactivity of agents with bonds X-I (X = O, N, Cl) and thermochemistry of the iodination.
