Room construction and sealing standards for atmospheric corrosion protection

Achieving and maintaining an adequate seal on process control and electrical control rooms in the pulp and paper industry is critical for limiting corrosion of the equipment. Proper design, construction and sealing standards prevent corrosive gases from infiltrating rooms and damaging both electronic and electrical equipment. In addition, maintaining positive seals results in savings associated with energy usage, fire protection/insurance and housekeeping. Needs, techniques, materials and results are discussed.
