Small angle measurement by use of a nonlinear optical feedback system

An optical pattern formed spontaneously in a nonlinear optical feedback system is composed of an optically addressable spatial light modulator and optical feedback flows due to lateral wave-front shift of the feedback light We propose to use this phenomenon to measure a small angle, because a rotation of the mirror produces the shift. We demonstrate the dependency between pattern speed and rotation angle.
