An overview of diving in contaminated water

Unfortunately, diving in contaminated water is a problem that most diving operations must confront, and we at NEDU are developing a program to address the myriad of concerns about diving in hazardous environments. Our approach includes creating strategies for identifying and characterizing hazards, optimizing diver protection, and establishing effective decontamination procedures. A recent survey of commercial and governmental diving agencies has elucidated current best practices for diving in contaminated water.
