Characterization of Ba - Zn Ferrite Carriers for Electrophotography

The characteristics of various ferrite and steel-shot carriers were investigated as a magnetic carrier for dual-component developers in electrophotography. The Ba-Zn ferrite carrier showed very stable copy characteristics compared with other carriers. It is shown that the soft magnetic brush of the Ba-Zn ferrite carrier produces excellent halftones compared with conventional ferrite and steel-shot carriers.
