Mixed Reality LEGO vs. Physical LEGO: Cognitive, Emotional, and Motor Advantages

This study compares Mixed Reality (MR) and physical LEGO assembly in 30 subjects aged 12–35, using Meta Quest devices with hand-tracking and visual haptic feedback. MR reduced physical demand by 8.0%, frustration by 21.47%, and workload by 12.3%, while improving focus by 26.6% and perceived performance by 15.0%. Physical tasks were 5.0% more precise due to tactile feedback. Results highlight MR's potential for engaging, low-effort educational tools, with applications for diverse learners, including those with special needs like autism.
