A Cognitive Grouping Architecture for Segregated Learning

The next big leap in the world of technology is knocking at the door. With High speed connectivity, it is estimated that there will be stounding 79.4 zettabytes of data generated by 42 billion connected devices by the end of year 2025. A huge part of this generated data comes from end users. The increase in data generation is a result of massive personalization. Intelligent service agents are able to capture user data in a fraction of second. This data is then utilized to predict the customer buying behavior. A similar approach can be induced in the Educational institutions, wherein learners with similar abilities are grouped together and given a common design problem. Based on their ability to solve a specific problem, important parameters can be captured. These parameters can then be utilized to assign similar type of problems to a specified group. Notable parameters include cognition and interpersonal communication. This approach can be utilized initially at the institute level. After a successful implementation, this approach can be extended to group students with similar abilities across different institutions. In essence, it will lead to cognitive grouping of learners who are specialized in solving a specific design problem.Another view is through Bloom's taxonomy. This approach will imply that gifted learners are able to connect with gifted learners from another institution. This grouping will indicate a specialized cognitive ability common across all the learners within a group. The grouping can be visualized as a cluster of nodes connected to a Common service provider and requesting similar services. This service provider can be an instructor or mentor, physical or virtual or an internet-based entity namely Cloud. The architecture proposes cognitive clustering across various institutions. This can be extended further to connect people with similar learning challenges such as dyslexia or autism. Memory difficulties, writing difficulties and other learning difficulties can be tackled successfully using this connectivity method that allows people with similar abilities to learn at their own pace.
