Dynamic Simulation Model of a Heavy Hydrocarbon Removal Unit from a Drained Feed Gas under Conditions of Low-temperature Rectification

The analysis of the process of removing heavy hydrocarbons from the drained feed gas under conditions of low-temperature rectification using the developed dynamic simulation model of the technological process is carried out. The purpose of the study was to identify potential causes and develop recommendations for the prevention of abnormal and emergency situations resulting from a critical decrease in the liquid level, extreme temperature deviation, increased pressure of the feed gas, fluctuations in the supply flow of the column. As part of the study of the dynamics of the process, the conditions for the formation of gas plugs in the reboiler and the causes of choking of the column were studied. As a result of the conducted research, recommendations are proposed for the prevention of possible abnormal and emergency situations. It is also proposed to introduce a multiparameter controller to ensure stable column operation and minimize the risks of emergency situations.
