A rapid position calibration method for the deep-sea subsurface acoustic buoy and its sea experiment validation

The deep-sea subsurface acoustic buoy plays an important role in the ocean environment monitoring and underwater target localization. High-precision position calibration of the buoy can significantly improve the recovery success rate, and is crucial for enhancing the performance of deep-sea localization system. In this paper, a rapid position calibration method is proposed to improve the precision of deep-sea subsurface acoustic buoy with a synchronization mode. And the theoretical position calibration error is analyzed. Simulation results and sea experimental data analysis demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a better positioning precision and calibration efficiency to support the rapid response and real-time localization requirements. Moreover, by eliminating the requirement of extensive correction concerning measurement ship position error and complex sound ray propagation adjustment, the process is simplified with the synchronization mode.
