The Features of Radiation Patterns of Dipole with Plane or Corner Screens depending on Wavelength

The directional action coefficient (DAC), radiation resistance and patterns (RPs) of a corner antenna with different aperture angles were calculated depending on operating wavelength using the algorithms and software developed by the author’s. The algorithms is based on the solutions of the 3D problems of the dipole field diffraction on ideally conducting corner with finite sizes in the frame work of the method of uniform geometric theory of diffraction. For a half-wave dipole, placed at a distance of a quarter of a resonant wavelength in the corner with optimal sizes providing a maximum DAC the bandwidth of the operating wavelengths was defined. It was found that the bandwidth does not depend on the screen sizes and decreases significantly with decreasing its aperture angle, while in the case of a plane screen we have two passbands. The features of the RPs depending on wavelength range are investigated in detail. The calculations were verified and confirmed by comparison with RPs calculated using the commercial FEKO software package.
