Linear Multipole Source for a Field Represented as a Linear Combination of Circular Cylinder Wave Functions and Some of Its Applications

This paper considers a field represented as a linear combination of circular cylinder wave functions. It is shown that such a field can be generated by a linear multipole source, i.e., a distribution of monopoles arranged along a segment of small length. This observation is then used to transform certain known expressions involving such a linear combination, followed by an analysis of its physical meaning. A comparison is presented between the obtained results and those derived using the Method of Auxiliary Sources.
