A Novel Equivalent Circuit Presentation for Two-Element 5G Wideband Dielectric Resonator Antenna

This paper presents a dual-slot-fed dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) combining rectangular and irregular elements for 5G n77-n79 band coverage (3.3-5.0 GHz). The design achieves $\mathbf{4 5. 9 9 \%}$ measured bandwidth ($\mathbf{3. 2 1 3 - 5. 1 3 2 ~ G H z}$) through simultaneously exciting multiple $\text{TE}^{\mathrm{y}} 111$ and $\text{TE}^{\mathrm{y}}{ }_{211}$ modes. An equivalent circuit presentation with tunable RLC branches is innovatively developed to address multi-mode coupling challenges in the proposed two-element DRA. Full-wave simulation results confirm that the resonant frequencies, multi-mode behaviour and impedance characteristics of the proposed DRA can be accurately captured.
