Integration of AI in Studying Foreign Language for Professional Purposes: Statistical Analysis of Students’ Motivational Competence

The article highlights the problem of integrating AI into the professional training of students using the example of the course "English for professional purposes". The main attention is paid to the use of AI as an effective means of forming students’ motivational competence to learning a foreign language. The theoretical and methodological basis of the research, consisting of a complex of general scientific and special methods, has been outlined. The criteria, indicators and levels of formation of students’ motivational competence to learning a foreign language during the course "English for professional purposes" with the use of AI have been determined. The educational and cognitive possibilities of AI implementation in the practice of foreign language classes have been outlined. Based on Bloom’s Taxonomic Approach, a structural-functional model of formation of students’ motivational competence to learning a foreign language during the course "English for professional purposes" with the use of AI has been developed. The conceptual foundations of development of specified structural-functional model have been disclosed. As part of the experience of the author's participation in activities of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies (ICR) at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, the article presents promising areas for the use of AI in formation of students’ motivational competence to learning a foreign language. An experimental implementation of the outlined structural-functional model has been carried out.
