Software Development Kit for Integration of Environmental Data

The increasing availability of environmental data plays a crucial role in decision-making for sustainability and policy development. However, integration of data sources is confronted with heterogeneity, scalability and interoperability challenges. This paper introduces an iOS Software Development Kit (SDK) designed to facilitate the integration of environmental data from various open or proprietary sources, streamlining the usage of aggregating multiple public Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) into a unified structure. The proposed solution provides a means to simplify access to heterogeneous data to enable seamless access, processing and analysis. Through a practical approach to build an integrated environmental information system, demonstrated for AirVisual and OpenWeather, the proposed solution improves data accessibility, fostering collaboration between diverse stakeholders.
