A High-Output-Current Radiation Hardened Half Bridge DC-DC Converter for Space Applications

A radiation-hardened DC-DC converter is proposed in this paper to meet the special requirements of space applications. Topology selection and parameter design are carried out. To ensure high efficiency and wide-range voltage regulation, two methods are introduced to suppress the impact of transformer leakage inductance. The proposed radiation-hardened prototype achieves DC-DC conversion from 95V~105V input to 3.3V output, supporting up to 80A full-load current. The prototype achieves a power density of 42.4W/in³ and a peak efficiency of 94.74%.
