Experimental Model of a Secure Nitinol (NiTi) Control System for Joystick-operated Machineries

To avoid errors or accidental movements, researchers developed a joystick secure locking/unlocking system featuring Nitinol (NiTi), a strong and flexible metal. This system ensures precise operation and can even track changes in the skin’s electrical conductivity to improve control. It’s designed for situations requiring firm, accurate handling. The Nitinol-based (NiTi) mechanism locks automatically if misused or left unused, cutting power of an actuation spring, for safety. A separate control based on the dermal resistance, lets only the accepted users to unlock the joystick, but if he is not recognized, it stays locked, preventing operation. This setup reduces the chance of mistakes, making it ideal for joystick-operated machineries where precision is critical. The system is both secure and user-friendly, offering a practical way to manage advanced equipment safely, but also by blending manual with automatic locking/unlocking, it provides a reliable, error-free solution for operators.
