Robust Stability Analysis and Controller Design for a Class of Nonlinear Systems Using Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Models

This note concerns the problem of stability analysis and controller design for a class of nonlinear systems using Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy models. By employing a robust proportional integral (PI) observer and the Lyapunov approach, a fault-tolerant fuzzy model controller is proposed, which ensures the stabilization of the closed-loop system. It is shown that the sufficient conditions for the existence of the proportional integral observer and the fault-tolerant fuzzy model controller can be derived in terms of the feasibility of a set of linear matrix inequalities. A simulation example illustrates the efficiency of the proposed approach.
