Modeling and Multi-Time Scale Real-Time Simulation Testing of the Series Networked DC Wind Farm Cluster

This paper addresses the issue of limited boosting capacity of high-ratio DC converters in the grid connection process of DC wind farms. A three-stage boosting architecture based on a two-stage DC converter and multi-generator series-connected configuration is proposed, along with a multi-level power control strategy for the wind farm cluster. To overcome the challenge of simulating real-time analog signal interactions in offline simulations during actual control processes, a hardware-in-the-loop real-time simulation platform is developed, enabling the co-simulation of electromechanical-electromagnetic transient characteristics of the wind farm cluster. Additionally, a step-size partitioning method is employed to achieve multi-timescale hybrid real-time simulation for both the electrical and mechanical sides. Finally, through semi-physical real-time simulation, it is verified that the proposed architecture and control strategy meet the parameter requirements for all operating conditions of the wind farm cluster, supporting the voltage boosting and lightweight construction of deep-sea wind power DC networking systems.
