A Compact Dual-polarized Antenna for Dielectric Logging Instruments

This paper introduces a compact dual-polarized antenna for dielectric logging instruments, which is used to obtain the resistivity and dielectric constant information of complex reservoirs such as heavy oil, tight oil and gas, and water-flooded zone. And the water - bearing porosity of the reservoir can be inverted based on this information. Combined with other porosity logging methods, it can realize the effective identification of reservoirs and accurate evaluation of saturation. The antenna is designed based on a pair of orthogonal magnetic dipoles. The simulated return loss and radiation patterns are reported and analyzed in the paper. The isolation between the channels of this antenna is greater than 81 dB, and it has good polarization grading characteristics.
