Pulse Doppler Radar System Based on RFSoC

This paper presents the design of a pulse doppler radar system based on RFSoC (Radio Frequency System-On-Chip). It examines the theoretical foundations of linear frequency modulated (LFM) signals, range and velocity measurement, and implements the two-dimensional Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) algorithm to maintain a constant false alarm rate. The system architecture comprises Programmable Logic (PL) and Processor System (PS) components. IP cores are implemented using MATLAB HDL Coder, with modular integration in Vivado design suite. A Python-Based framework handles system control and data processing. Experimental results demonstrate the system can resolve multiple targets with range resolution better than 1 m and velocity resolution under 10 m/s, significantly enhancing radar detection performance.
