Wind Based DFIG Integrated Grid System Using Adaptive P&O Based MPPT Controller

This paper intended an Adaptive Perturb and Observe (P&O) in accordance with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Controller to increase the reliability and reduce energy consumption for a wind-based Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) integrated grid structure. The wind based DFIG structure converts wind power into electrical power. A Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) rectifier is utilized to transform the Alternating Current (AC) voltage to Direct Current (DC) voltage. The purpose of an adaptive P&O based MPPT controller is to collect high energy from the wind, which also increases the wind system’s efficiency. Proportional Integral (PI) controller is used to normalize the inverter three-phase to make the connection of the wind to a three-phase electrical network. In a three-voltage source inverter (VSI), DC is transformed to AC, and DQ theory is used for more stable and balanced output voltage and current, which leads to better power quality. The LC filter removes high-order harmonic components from the VSI’s output voltage, resulting in a high-quality sinusoidal voltage. The results are simulated by using the MATLAB software. In contrast to conventional P&O techniques, the results indicate that the proposed $\mathrm{P} \& \mathrm{O}$ offers excellent performance and improves the overall system efficiency.
