Exciton Transfer Mechanisms in Ruddlesden Popper Perovskites Probed by Cathodoluminescence and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy

We explore the underlying mechanisms for the formation of self-hybridized exciton polaritons in thin van der Waals layers, as well as excitonic diffusion in hybrid perovskites and hexagonal boron nitride heterostructures. Enabled by a newly-developed fiber-based cathodoluminescence detector, we explore the mechanisms for exciton transport and demonstrate an ultra-long diffusion mechanism enabled by exciton-defect coupling in perovskite and hexagonal boron nitride heterostructures.
