3D Reconstruction of Moving Targets Based on SAR Shadow Information

In this paper, we propose a target 3D reconstruction method based on shadow information processing, which can use the moving target shadows at different angles to reconstruct target 3D structure. Firstly, the shadow images of moving targets are preprocessed to obtain binary shadow images at different observation angles; Secondly, the target model is initialized and its coordinates are transformed based on the azimuth angle. The 3D model is projected onto the ground to obtain a 2D projection image at the corresponding observation angle; Finally, by matching the ground projection of the target model with the binary shadow image and eliminating the redundant target points, the 3D reconstruction result of the target is obtained. In the experiment, we used SAR shadow images with SNR greater than 7 dB, and the 3D reconstruction results can truly represent the shape information of the target, which proved the effectiveness of the proposed method.
