Verification and Validation of MIL STD 1553B Bus Protocol Using OmniBus II PXIe Card

Rig for Integration and Testing (RIT) facility is being designed and developed for end-to-end integrated testing and monitoring of ISR system and their LRUs performance at ground. It facilitates state of the art test tools, integration with the LabVIEW based software to automate the test and evaluation process. To achieve comprehensive solution for testing and analyzing mission critical systems, RIT includes LXI based as well as PXI/PXIe based instruments. In this, Astronics Omnibus-II PXIe card is selected as a multiprotocol interface. In this paper, Impairments of this protocol is verified using LabVIEW in RIT to facilitate testing.
