Implementation and Validation of ARINC 429 Using LabVIEW for testing of Airborne Systems

This research focuses on implementation and validation of ARINC 429 communication using an Astronics Omnibus-II Ballard card in a loopback configuration. The study measures the time delay between transmitting and receiving single and multiple ARINC 429 messages to evaluate system performance. Key parameters such as transmission accuracy, message format, and latency are analysed. A LabVIEW-based framework is developed to transmit messages and receive messages. Results demonstrate the impact of speed and message volume on latency, providing insights into optimizing ARINC 429 communication systems for real-time applications. The methodology ensures accurate latency measurement and system validation without external LRUs.
