Automated Interpretation of on-Board 1553B Transactions from Bus Monitor For Aditya L1

Aditya L1 is the maiden mission of ISRO to study the solar corona and processes leading to changes in the solar corona. Aditya L1 mission contains 7 payloads. The main payload Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) will study the solar corona in the visible band and also in one of the infrared lines to estimate the magnetic field of the corona from space for the first time. This experiment is similar to the Large Angle and Spectrometric Coronagraph (LASCO C1), one of the experiments on Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO).The spacecraft interfaces with the ground station for tracking and command via the Telemetry [TM] downlink [which gives the health of the satellite] and Telecommand [TC] uplink for com-manding the spacecraft. On-board Aditya L1, various subsystems are interface on 1553B bus. The communication transactions on-board 1553B are tapped through Bus Monitor port during integrated spacecraft testing (IST). For evaluating the autonomy features, a software utility "Message Interpreter" was developed to enable accelerated testing by interpreting the messages (binary data transactions) to human readable mnemonics form arranged in chronological order.Message Interpreter extracts the messages from Bus Monitor (BM) data and validates against the programmed events as logged in ground Spacecraft Checkout Computer (SCC) by comparing the messages with respect to their time relation. Generates the detailed report.
