Hybrid Nanocomposite (Mxenes, Graphene, and Silicon) Anodes for Grid-Scale Lithium-Ion Batteries

This paper explores the promising potential of hybrid nanocomposite anodes in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) that are crucial for efficient using of renewable energy sources. The hybrid nanocomposite anodes mix silicon's ability to store a lot of energy, MXenes' excellent conductivity, and graphene's strong structure to tackle the challenges of improving battery performances. We explore, based on a wide literature review, the latest progress in silicon, MXenes (like $\text{Ti}_{3} \mathrm{C}_{2} \mathrm{T}_{\mathrm{x}}$), and 3D graphene-based anode designs, emphasizing their contributions to enhancing energy storage and stability. A novel composite, $\text{Ti}_{3} \mathrm{C}_{2} \mathrm{T}_{\mathrm{x}} / 3 \mathrm{D}$ graphene/Si nanoparticles, is suggested, aiming for capacities over $1500 \text{mAh} \mathrm{g}^{-1}$ and good stability for power grids. It can enhance the power and-lifetime of lithium-ion batteries. This literature-based analysis highlights the essential importance of material breakthroughs in promoting sustainable, high-performance battery technologies for future grid storage solutions.
