Techniques for Enhancing Accuracy and Precision in Real-Time Measurements on Energy Storage Systems

The ever-wider use of energy storage systems (ESS) in various applications has underscored the urgency for their efficient management and state estimation. Towards addressing the existing issues and developing a robust technology, the measurement quality of the various relevant parameters is of critical importance. In this paper, attempts for enhancing the accuracy and precision in measurements on ESS, based on Lithium-ion batteries are presented. The latter will lay the ground for a high-quality estimation of the battery internal impedance, which can lead to useful inferences regarding its State-of-Health (SoH) and be utilized for its effective energy management.
