Gluten Sensitivity: Exploring Risks in Colorectal and Digestive Cancer

Gluten sensitivity, as both celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity, increasingly is being recognized as a very important public health problem; both diseases are associated with several gastrointestinal symptoms and extra-intestinal symptoms. Recently studies have increasingly explored the potential association between gluten sensitivity and cancer, and most of them have focused especially on digestive system cancers. Current literature regarding gluten-related disorders about cancer risk, especially that of colorectal cancer, is reviewed, along with other cancers of the digestive system.
