Smart Fuzzy-PID Control System for Nutrient Removal in A2/O Wastewater Treatment Using PLC

This study presents an intelligent control strategy for optimizing the A2/O wastewater treatment process, leveraging a fuzzy logic algorithm integrated with a PLC-based automation platform. The proposed system dynamically regulates aeration and chemical dosing in response to real-time wastewater quality parameters, enhancing nitrogen and phosphorus removal while minimizing energy and chemical consumption. The control framework adopts a hybrid PLC-computer architecture to enable cyclic, multi-parameter adjustment with adaptive feedback. Experimental results confirm marked improvements in nutrient removal efficiency and process stability, demonstrating the system's potential for scalable application in automated and intelligent wastewater treatment solutions.
